In Memorial:
It is with great sadness that we share this news with you. Our Maryland chapter has lost an avid supporter with the passing of volunteer Ruth E. (Elaine) Kolakowski.  Ruth made and donated more than 1,000 Binkies to the chapter. She will be missed by all of us.

Binky Patrol Delivers to the Polk Red Cross
   and a related story: Polk Red Cross helps two families in one night after home fires

"WINTER HAVEN - On Friday, the American Red Cross Polk County Chapter received a special delivery of about 50 hand-sewn blankets and quilts to give to families following a disaster.

The blankets help provide extra comfort after local small disasters, such as house fires, that affect families without warning, especially families with small children, who need extra comfort after disaster.

For six and a half years, members of the local Binky Patrol have helped their Red Cross and community with their quilts. In that time, Lake Ashton Binky Patrol Coordinator Yvonne Makowski figures they have sewn and donated more than 4,000 blankets.  ..."  to read more, click here.
