World's Biggest Baby Shower JUNE 18, 2011

Saturday, June 18, 2011 - across the country | Teens & Kids Volunteer > From the section: Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts
June, 2011 |

What better way for Binky Patrol to celebrate 15 years and over 750,000 binkies than to throw a baby shower in honor of the residents of local pregnancy/Women's shelters throughout the country.  With economic times as they are, many expectant mothers are in crisis, homeless or just alone.  We want to give them dignity, a happy memory during their pregnancy and some gifts.

The event is set for Saturday, June 18, 2011.  Locations and times to be determined, but we are gladly accepting sponsorships at the local and national level to help promote this event and increase the success.

We are encouraging anyone who would like to attend to do so. There will be a $5 donation to help cover costs and $10 at the door.  The donation will give you an opportunity to win some opportunity quilt - each location may or may not have a $5 donation and opportunity quilt.

We are also asking that every attendee bring a baby shower gift - as is customary.  Label the outside if it is specific to a boy or girl, if it is.

(This is not the quilt, but if your local event is having an opportunity quilt, it will be equally as lovely.)

There will be corporate tables available.  Corporate sponsorship for the event begins at $250.  $300 will have your company included in all publicity and on the website.  MORE ABOUT SPONSORSHIP HERE >>

EASY WAYS TO HELP YOUR LOCAL EVENT:
Attend the event and bring a gift.
Buy a gift and donate it.
Donate to the mom goodie bags
Publicize the event.

We are also encouraging those who cannot attend to either send a baby shower small gift, binky or Baby Shower card to the mothers-to-be who are residents of local pregnancy shelters. Send them to BPHQ or to a local shelter in your own areas in honor of the event. These women/teens will be the honored guests and all gifts will go to them and those facilities. Please do not send anything until May 15.

Ideal for Girl Scout troops.  Here are some ideas for troops that want to help >>

Be sure to notify Susan Finch if you are planning to have an event so we can get it on the calendar and publicize it for you.

A list of how Girl Scout troops can help (Word Doc)

We are using this for our local Service Unit. Feel free to contact your local regional office of Girls Scouts. You may be able to present this idea for them and get a TON of help from local troops.

You may send presents and RSVPs, checks or Babies R Us or Target gift cards to:  Nation's Biggest Baby Shower, c/o Binky Patrol, PO Box 652, Beaverton, OR  97075.

Make checks payable to Binky Patrol, Inc.  Your check is your tax receipt.  Gift cards to Babies R Us or Target are great too.

We'll give you an update of this list of locations by April.

All donations are tax deductible as we are a 501c3 Corporation.

Press Release is here - please help us get the word out!
