Welcome to the Puyallup Chapter of Binky Patrol!
We’re so glad you’re here. The Puyallup Chapter of Binky Patrol is part of a nationwide volunteer network dedicated to delivering handmade blankets—called “binkies”—to children and teens who are ill, in foster care, experiencing homelessness, or facing trauma.
Our mission is simple but powerful:
To show children they are not forgotten, by wrapping them in warmth and love.
What is Binky Patrol?
Founded in 1996, Binky Patrol is a national nonprofit (501(c)(3)) organization with chapters all across the country. Volunteers of all ages and skill levels make blankets and donate them to local hospitals, shelters, and social service agencies. Our binkies are handmade with care—no perfection required, just compassion.
About the Puyallup Chapter
Here in Puyallup, Washington, we focus on serving our local community by:
- Donating blankets to area hospitals, foster care programs, shelters, and outreach organizations.
- Hosting blanket-making events to bring people together around a cause that truly makes a difference.
- Creating opportunities for volunteers to give back in a hands-on, meaningful way.
Whether you’re an experienced crafter or just looking for a way to give back, we welcome you with open arms!
How You Can Get Involved
1. Make a Blanket
We accept:
- Fleece tie blankets (no sewing required!)
- Quilted, crocheted, or knitted blankets
- All blankets should be new, handmade, and child-appropriate in size (typically 36”x36” up to twin size)
2. Donate Materials
Your donation of supplies helps us create more binkies. We need:
- Fleece and cotton fabric (new, clean, and smoke-free)
- Yarn (acrylic is best)
- Thread and sewing notions
3. Volunteer Your Time
Join us at our community “Binky Bees” or volunteer from home. We welcome individuals, families, schools, scout troops, and community groups.
4. Help Us Spread the Word
Share our mission on social media, invite friends to events, or organize a group binky-making day at your school, church, or workplace.
