You’ve heard it on the news and in the classroom; “get out there and help your community.” But sometimes, “getting out there” is easier said than done. Many of us have people and things to care for within our own homes, and can’t always run the charity marathon or volunteer at the library. If you’re like Samantha Hood, you still want to help others despite the needs keeping us home. And what better way to help others from the comfort of your home than by providing comfort to those outside your home. Simply put, Binky Patrol is an organization that changes lives, and you can help out from your couch. All you need is a pair of scissors and a few big pieces of fleece.
Kids, teens, adults find themselves needing community service hours from time to time. This can be for school, a service organization, referral by a local judge - it doesn't matter. Weyside Christian Mission in Lousville, KY is so happy Stacey had community service hours assigned! She is going to continue to make binkies for them.
When I walked in, the setting was a gym that was filled with people running around and things all over the floors. I was filtered through a line and given a name tag, then sent to the back of the gym to begin cutting fabric and stuffing for the blankets.
As you know, our chapters are always hard at work. We are so grateful for our diligent chapters and can't express that enough.
We've been lucky enough to have Jenna Denison, a Michigan mother of two toddlers, crochet a whopping 30 binkies as a part of community service! We can't thank her enough.
