Thank you to everyone who has helped out so far by either getting Binkies to us or else sponsoring the boxes so they can get shipped off to bring much needed hugs Texas. So far, Jeanne Malgioglio in our Connecticut chapter has gotten four boxes out to the towns of Kerrville and Comfort, areas that were devastated by the floods. Oregon is sending three boxes on Monday to two locations. We have sponsors for shipping, but could always use more quilts and afghans – nothing too bulky, but filled with love.
Reach out Worldwide (ROWW) is an amazing organization with which we partnered to get the binkies and supplies to California this past winter for the fire victims in Altadena. They have boots on the ground in Texas and are helping with the recovery efforts. They have provided us with names and addresses of a few other places (San Angelo, Center Point, and Marble Falls) that have received less publicity over the past week and really need some support.
If Jeanne can get more binkies this weekend plus people to help with shipping, she’ll send a few more boxes from our chapter.
You can see her page for updates. https://www.facebook.com/ctbinky.
If any teens want community service hours this weekend, message Jeanne through her page, and you can have a few fleece kits from the stockpile.
