Chapter Information

We’re a group of volunteers who make blankets (called binkies) and other soft items for children in need across LA County. All ages and skill levels are welcome- if you can use scissors and tie a knot, you can make a blanket. All blankets are accepted, provided they are new, handmade, and do not contain religious elements.

We meet most Saturdays from 1 to 4 pm at Mia’s house. We also occasionally meet on Saturdays from 4 to 7 pm at Beadahs (current information is at the top of the site page). Email or text Mia to be added to our mailing list for real-time meeting updates and the address! Bring a project, or come with ideas. We have supplies for everyone.

We donate our blankets to:

– Providence St. John’s Hospital

– St. John’s Child & Family Development Center

We’ve made:

10 blankets, 7 stuffed animals, 4 bags, and counting!

Community Service

Volunteering with Binky Patrol fulfills a community service requirement and is a great way to meet local crafters, too! Don’t worry if this is your first time making a blanket – check out the resources below, contact Mia with any questions, and please feel free to come to our weekly Saturday meetings for support. Thank you for helping us comfort the children in our community!

To thank you for your hard work, we offer:

5 hours per no-sew fleece blanket

-10 hours for scarves, hats, and stuffed animals

-30 hours for knit, crocheted, sewn, and quilted blankets

Want to make something that’s not on this list? Go for it! Reach out to Mia to figure out how many hours you could get for your project.
