Please join us as we give blankets to children who need a reminder that they are not forgotten. We need volunteers to make blankets for sick, traumatized, grieving or homeless children 0-18. Blankets can be knitted, crocheted, fleece tie, and quilted. Our chapter was established in January 2014, and since then, we have distributed over 28,800 blankets!
We have made deliveries to the following organizations: Bridgeport Hospital, Yale Children’s Hospital, CT Children’s Center, Norwalk Hospital, Bridgeport Rescue Mission, Ruth’s House, The Ronald McDonald House and the Center for Family Justice, just for starters. We have sent bags and bags of blankets to schools in order to comfort children after a tragedy. We also give out blankets individually as needs arise.
BINK-A-THON NEWS —
. Our next event will be on October 17th – we are one of the chapters that is participating in the national Bink-a-thon, sponsored by the MrBallen Foundation. We hope you will all join us from 10-2 at Nichols United Methodist Church in Trumbull, CT. We will be making fleece-tie blankets that day. We will have the fleece, and we just need you to bring a sharp pair of scissors! Feel free to drop off binkies you have already made.
We will also have a second binkathon this fall on November 21st from 10 -2 again at Nichols United Methodist Church
CHALLENGES
Binky Patrol is now 30 years old. As a way of celebrating, our chapter is looking to reach it 30,000th blanket made by the end of the year. We are slowly getting there, and we need everyone’s help to achieve this amazing milestone.
We are currently collecting to fill Santa’s sled this holiday season and give him over 800 binkies to bring to children who will be stuck in hospitals and shelters this holiday season.
We are also encouraging our knitters and crocheters to use up their yarn and make chaos blankets — where they turn random colors and random stitches into beautiful binkies.

We would appreciate donations of fleece, fabric and yarn. Gift cards to Walmart, or Michaels would be appreciated as well! We are always collecting financial donations for future Bink-A-Thons. Checks can be made out to Binky Patrol, or you can donate directly on the main Binky Patrol website.
