About the Janesville Chapter
Monthly Meetings
Our Monthly Meetings take place on the final Saturday of each month (beginning in March 2026). We gather at 1:00 PM at Bodacious Brew Coffee Shop on Main Street in Janesville.
The manager at Bodacious Brew has generously agreed to host us, and we’re grateful for their hospitality. To help make our continued presence sustainable for their business, we kindly encourage everyone who attends to purchase something during the meeting, even if it’s just a cup of coffee.
Who We Are & Who’s Welcome
We would love for you to be part of this growing, caring community in Janesville.
Our meetups are relaxed and welcoming to crafters and non-crafters alike. If you resonate with the mission of Binky Patrol, you’ll be in good company. Sewers, quilters, knitters, crocheters, weavers, and makers of all kinds are warmly invited.
Don’t consider yourself crafty? We need you, too. We’re always looking for caring hands to write heartfelt notes to tuck in with donated blankets, and for helpers who can assist with processing and organizing donations as they come in.
Opportunities to Learn
Our area coordinator knits in the community at least once a week and would be happy to use that time to help anyone interested in learning to knit or crochet get started.
We also have friends who are willing to teach basic sewing and other Binky-related skills, so there will always be opportunities to learn.
Yarn Kits & Supplies
We currently offer pre-kitted yarn packages that allow individuals to knit or crochet a binky. Each kit includes the necessary yarn and a pattern; participants will only need to provide their own knitting needles or crochet hook. These kits are provided free of charge as supplies are available.
For those who prefer to use a pattern of their own choosing, we also maintain a small supply of worsted weight yarn for chapter projects. Because our supply is limited, we ask that individuals contact the area coordinator in advance so that yarn can be brought to the next monthly meeting.
In order to steward our resources well, we prioritize these kits and yarn supplies for new knitters and crocheters, as well as for individuals who may have a financial barrier to purchasing their own materials.
All yarn and kits are offered as available, and quantities may vary from month to month. We simply ask that any supplied materials be used to complete and return a finished binky to the Janesville chapter for distribution to a child in need.
Bringing Binky Patrol to You
Our chapter is also happy to bring Binky Patrol into your community. We would love to visit nursing homes, retirement communities, assisted living facilities, and similar venues to craft with your residents.
We can design a simple, meaningful Binky-related project that fits the abilities and interests of the people you serve. This can look like tying fleece blankets, helping prep materials, or creating small handmade items that support our mission. We’ll work alongside residents to make it a fun, social, and purposeful experience.
If you think your community would enjoy crafting together for a good cause, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to connect.
