[June 2025] — Binky Patrol, a national nonprofit providing handmade blankets to children and teens in need, is honored to announce continued support from the MrBallen Foundation, whose most recent grant will fund nationwide Bink-A-Thon events and chapter development initiatives across the country.
This generous funding arrives just as Binky Patrol celebrates its 30th year of service. Founded in 1996, the 100% volunteer-driven organization has grown into a national network of chapters dedicated to providing comfort, hope, and warmth through handmade blankets for children who are ill, abused, homeless, or in trauma.
The 2025 MrBallen Foundation grant will enable Binky Patrol to:
-
Host national Bink-A-Thon events that bring together volunteers of all ages to make thousands of blankets in a single day.
-
Provide mini-grants and material support to help chapters celebrate the organization’s 30th anniversary with local events, outreach, and volunteer drives.
-
Strengthen local partnerships fostered through connections made by the MrBallen Foundation.
“We are so grateful to the MrBallen Foundation for the funding to allow us to continue to support our chapters and their local efforts, but also for the great organizations they have introduced us to,” said Susan Finch, Founder of Binky Patrol. “We have developed local partnerships with them as well to continue to build this community of healing.”
The MrBallen Foundation’s mission—to honor victims and support survivors of violent crime—aligns closely with Binky Patrol’s work to provide tangible comfort and a sense of safety to vulnerable youth. Their support helps Binky Patrol reach more children and families at moments when kindness matters most.
