OK, this video is DATED. I need to update it – JoAnn is GONE.

Quick tips on how we make the no-sew fleece blankets.

This saves time and keeps your binkies from being ugly. The key is consistent fringe widths and depths, AND cutting off the ugly selvage on BOTH sides before anything.

  1. www.onlinefabricstore.com.  You can usually find a 15% coupon online, and shipping is usually free if you spend a certain amount. On sale, it’s about $6 a yard. We’d rather have a single layer binky with better fleece.
  2. Single or double layers are AOK!
  3. Fold the blanket in half, lining up the selvage on one side.
  4. Cut off the selvage carefully to tidy up the edge.
  5. Fold in half again so all corners are together.
  6. Cut out a 4″ (single layer)-5″ (double layer) square from the OPEN CORNER only – NEVER CUT ON A FOLD
  7. Cut fringe up both OPEN SIDES ONLY to the same height as that square you just cut out. The fringes should be about 1.5″ wide – make it even. Pick your width and stick with it.
  8. Now, open it up, keeping your two pieces together if you are doing a double.
  9. Tie the pairs of fringe or single fringe like you would a balloon – around two fingers. Do not tie all the way up to the top or your binky will pucker. Tie the knot about 1/2″ from the top of the fringe by the fabric.
