Anaheim, June 23, 2001 1-4 p.m.
What better way to celebrate Five Years of Binky Fun then to hold the World’s Biggest Baby Shower!? Binky Patrol will be celebrating 5 years and over 100,000 binkies delivered as of Jan. 1, 2001.
The event is set for Saturday, June 23, 2001 from 1-4pm. The location has been finalized at the Downtown Anaheim Community Center, thanks to the City of Anaheim.
This year’s Annual Meeting will be an Anonymous Baby Shower. We are encouraging anyone who would like to attend to do so. There will be a $5 donation from attending Area Coordinators or your binky chapter regulars to help cover costs and that donation will give you an opportunity to win a beautiful heart throw made by Kathy Mullen. If any Area Coordinator or Binky Volunteer would like to attend and cannot make the $5 donation, please contact Susan Finch. Donation is $10 at the door.
Space is limited to about 220. (This is a close up of the opportunity quilt by Kathy Mullen) To win this quilt – winner MUST be present. The Bink-A-Thon Opportunity quilt by Carolyn Dilday will premiere at this event as will the California Chapters joint opportunity quilt by our dear friend whom we miss – Lola Ackerson finished by Carolyn Dilday. Anyone can participate in that drawing. More info to come.
We are also encouraging those who cannot attend to either send a baby shower small gift, binky or Baby Shower card to the mothers-to-be who are residents of local pregnancy shelters. Send them to BPHQ or to a local shelter in your own areas in honor of the event. These women/teens will be the honored guests and all gifts will go to them and those facilities. Please do not send anything until June.
We have already heard from some chapters who cannot attend. They will be having their own small baby showers benefiting a local pregnancy shelter near their chapter. We’ll give you an update of this list also.
Cake and drinks will be served, we will have a multimedia presentation about Binky through the past five years compiled from all of the video tape you have sent to HQ. We will also be recognizing outstanding volunteers and sponsors. It will be a great event! We hope you can attend.
