1st Prize – Camphill, PA Binky Patrol $50 gift certificate to their favorite quilt store – this quilt was made by Ann Smyser.
The center blocks use the material that was sent from BPHQ, the outer border came from a yard sale. The backing, thread and trims came from two different estate sales.
About the CampHill, PA Chapter: In January of 1999 after reading an article in Family Circle, Yvonne Makowski asked 10 of of her friends to bring fabric and join her in making binkies. Since then the circle of friends has grown. We’ve been able to make and donate over 800 binkies to area charities.

2nd Prize – $25 – Sheary Carr of Belfast, NY
Sheary had to laugh when she received her package. She wanted to make sure we were serious and expected her to make a binky from the upholstery fabric. Once she put her mind to it – she understood why Susan Finch and Laurie Smith love this type of fabric. The textures, richness — just sew it together first — without prewashing and it puckers up beautifully! She and her friends really enjoyed the contest and are now getting to the business of starting their chapter. Welcome aboard Sheary!

3rd Prize – $15 – Ernalee Munday of Marysville, WA Binky Patrol
Ernalee received a packet of some favorites. Mixes of silky textures with woven fabrics in pinks, roses and muted blues. The binky she created was so full of love and gentleness. Great job, Ernalee.
Thanks to all who participated in this challenge. For those of you who weren’t able to complete your binkies by the deadline, we still hope to receive them so that we can see the creative solutions you all came up with.
