Student making a difference in LaPalma Saturday, December 1. JFK FBLA has distributed 1,000 flyers throughout the city of La Palma to invite members of the community to attend workshops for Binky Patrol: Bundles of Warmth. On the first three weekends of December, JFK FBLA will be hosting workshops on campus where members of the community, students attending the high school, teachers, and anyone interested in donating his or time can come to cut fabric to make quilts for needy people within the ages of 0-18.

La Palma, Calif. November 21, 2001—The John F. Kennedy High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter is currently having an ongoing clothes and money drive until December 21, 2001. All monetary donations received will be used to fulfill the Binky Patrol Comforting Covers for Kids mission. JFK FBLA wants this project to fulfill our own mission: to be an outstanding chapter and to develop capable leaders while applying vocational skills and attitude to make a positive difference. With this project, we will be developing students to become tomorrow’s leaders by making a difference in the community today.

Future Business Leaders is a national, non-profit educational association for students interested in preparing for leadership careers in business. John F. Kennedy FBLA belongs to California FBLA and specifically one of the many chapters representing the Southern Section.

The bulk of this project will be the process of making blankets.JFK FBLA has distributed 1,000 flyers throughout the city of La Palma to invite members of the community to attend workshops for Binky Patrol: Bundles of Warmth. We will be at JFK HS in MP-1 (multipurpose room 1) from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm.  I do not quite remember the drill for making binkies (the last time we did this was 5 years ago….) and it would be really great to have someone experienced to get us moving along.  Come by if you can!

We look forward to this pproject being a success to teach partnership skills as well as warm our community.
