Dear Gayle and Binky Patrol Members,

Thank you so much for your recent donation of 20 Binky quilts. Children who are served by our agency love to receive one of your beautiful and comfy quilts from Binky Patrol. One situation in particular comes to mind. A mother and three children entered our safe house, and the eight year old daughter left her Binky quilt in our agency van the day she had received it. After the van drove away and she quickly discovered that she did not have it, she began to cry and became very upset. A staff member noticed the blanket in the backseat, returned it immediately which dried the tears and made the girl happy again.

We had a family with two children come into shelter in the night. Because they had to leave a situation in a hurry, they left all their toys, books and favorite things behind. Mom had told them they might never be able to go back to their home for those things, but they would get new belongings again sometime. When they got to our office, they were in a new community where they didn’t know anyone, heading to shelter that would, at least for now, be their home. We immediately let them each pick out their own blanket.

From another office, a staff person heard them talking about how they each had their very own special new blanket. Thanks for helping children to feel special and comforted. Thank you for your continued cooperation and support; you truly make a difference, helping children in crisis to feel loved and comforted.

Sincerely,

Maggie Fronk
