Turning an addiction into love for kids

Ernalee Munday just sent this to me, “I have just finished today measuring fabric from the largest donation this chapter has ever received.  I did have help. We received 1436 yards of fabric from a neighbor of one of our members. We are grateful for her donation and we did not get all she had. Project Linus was given an equal amount., lucky for them as well.  But, it is also with sadness that we accepted this. The poor lady has had an addiction to fabric for many years and has made many quilts. She is now physically ill as well and can no longer sew. We were invited to come an remove the fabrics from a room in her basement.  She knew about Binky Patrol because one of her neighbors was Carol Strack, who had been with our Chapter from its beginning and passed away 2 years ago.

 

We had earlier decided not to meet in July, but have now decided that there will be an emergency meeting in mid-July for the sole purpose of having the ladies take some of this fabric out of my house. It is high quality fabric and has been very well cared for.  We are lucky to have it.  Much of it is Christmas so we will be delivering a lot of Christmas quilts this year.  Lots of darker colors as well that will go into quilts for a boys home that we make quilts for every Christmas. “
