Last year’s total surpassed
I was hoping for 50 blankets.
Last year we hit 81, but I thought it was a fluke.
WRONG! The volunteers in Quincy, IL really worked on this one. We had somewhere between 10 and 20 volunteers at the Bink-A-Thon at any one time, but many more helped out. Quite a few stopped by to chat, and dropped off blankets if they couldn’t stay. Even more went out of their way to obtain pledges. The local quilter’s guild, although not listed as volunteers, came by to help out. We even signed up a few new volunteers.
And at the end of the day, we had collected a grand total of 97 blankets, most of which were already delivered to local children within a week. Good thing, too, because these volunteers’s efforts are overwhelming my storage space.
