Space Coast Chapter offers comfort to children of deployed military men and women

The Space Coast Chapter recently donated 56 binkies to the Family Support Center at Patrick Air Force Base.  Master Sgt. Kelly Halbisen, Superintendent of the Family Support Center met with Area Coordinator Liz Casper to receive the binkies, Hugga Bears and other baby items for the military families that have loved ones in the Gulf. The binkies were quickly distributed and Casper has already received an email from one of the families.

“My three children each just received a quilt from Binky Patrol today from the Patrick Air Force Base Family Support Center. My husband is in the Army and deployed to Kuwait. His deployment was quite a surprise since he had been out of the Army for 7 years and was called up.

I wanted to let you know how special my children feel to have a hand-made-with-love quilt of their own. Please let your volunteers know they are greatly appreciated!”

The Space Coast Chapter is still collecting binkies for Patrick Air Force Base, over 500 men and women have been deployed from the base – leaving behind many children.

MSgt. Kelly Halbisen packs bags and bags of binkies and other goods into her truck at Patrick Air Force Base.
