Binky Patrol Monroe- Trumbull saw firsthand how Mother Nature can wreak havoc and destruction when heavy rains caused flash floods in neighboring towns this past August. Thanks to a big collection and help from other chapters, we were able to provide blankets to displaced children and the babies and kids who attend a preschool that had gotten flooded.
When we saw the damage coming out of Western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene, we knew we had to somehow get binkies down to the area. We shipped two boxes of baby blankets to Operation North State, a group in North Carolina that had a huge collection drive. We were also able to load over 150 blankets on to one of 3 tractor trailers that are leaving Connecticut today. THe trailers are filled with supplies that will be trekked into the most cut off areas of Western North Carolina. They told me that blankets were a priority and were glad to receive them!
