Sponsoring our Monroe CT Chapter

We recently received a donation in-kind of first-quality fleece blankets from the Mohawk Valley Trading Company. We asked them to ship directly to our Monroe CT chapter as they are in the middle of a huge holiday drive for blankets. The chapter will be adding adorable crochet borders and embellishments and then bringing them to bring warmth and comfort to babies this winter.  The Mohawk Valley Trading Company has a big heart!

We won’t turn down new blankets that will comfort people. The Mohawk Valley Trading Company has a big heart!

We recently received a donation in-kind of first-quality fleece blankets from the Mohawk Valley Trading Company. Yes, we know we always want handmade blankets. We asked them to ship directly to our Monroe, CT chapter as they are in the middle of a huge holiday drive for blankets. Jeanne’s BINKIES will go to kids – those that are handmade. These donated blankets will accompany them and go to the women at the battered women’s shelter in the area.

We won’t turn down new blankets that will comfort people. It’s similar to what happens when Pink Lemonade sends us blankets. The Mohawk Valley Trading Company has a big heart!

A bit more about how the Mohawk Valley Trading Company found us. One of their employees suggested they reach out. We asked them why this was important, as they are helping a few charities like us. Donna Jones said, “We want to enhance our social responsibility policy by demonstrating our business cares about people and as part of our internet marketing strategy to increase our online presence; we reach out to partner/sponsor/support/donate to organizations that share our values (no matter what the geographical location is).

She also had ideas for some of their products we are happy to share.

“Another way we support people and like-minded organizations is by offering “in-kind donations” for fundraising auctions, raffles, swag/gift bags, door prizes or events.

Our “in-kind donations” for fundraising auctions or raffles include, but are not limited to:

  • Families who are forced out of their homes by fire, natural disasters, personal hardship, or other unplanned emergencies.
  • Death or illness of a person who earns the majority of the income for a household.
  • Treatment of an illness or injury, travel and lodging expenses for treatment of an illness or injury (this includes veterinarian or animal hospitals), etc.
